WeCare for AbetterU(“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website (the “Site”), how we use, share, and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Site only; information we receive when you become a customer in our store or by phone is also handled as described in the “Health information and HIPAA” section below.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit a quote request or contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address (if you provide it), ZIP code, the product or service you are interested in, and any message you include.
Information collected automatically.Our hosting provider records technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested). If — and only if — you opt in to “Analytics & advertising” in our cookie banner, we also use Karbon analytics tools that collect device and browser information, pages viewed, clicks, referring website or ad, approximate location derived from IP address, and session recordings of how you interact with pages, and that may link your browsing to a form you later submit so we can measure which marketing works.
What we do not want. Please do not put medical records, diagnoses, Social Security numbers, or insurance ID numbers in the website form. We will collect what is needed securely when we speak with you.
How we use information
- To respond to your request and provide a quote.
- To verify insurance eligibility when you ask us to.
- To arrange delivery, fittings, rentals, repairs, and service.
- To contact you about your inquiry by phone, text, or email.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site and prevent spam and fraud.
- With your consent only: to understand how the Site is used and to measure and improve our marketing.
- To comply with the law and enforce our terms.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract, only as needed to run our business:
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Supabase — secure database where quote requests are stored.
- Resend — email delivery (notifications to us and confirmation to you).
- Quo (OpenPhone) — text-message alerts to our staff about new requests.
- Karbon — analytics, session recording, and ad measurement (only if you opt in).
- Google Maps — only if you click to load the map; Google receives your IP address and may set cookies.
We may also disclose information to insurers and Medicare/Medi-Cal when you ask us to verify or bill coverage, to professional advisers, if required by law or legal process, to protect rights, safety, and property, and in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business. Under California law, if you opt in to advertising measurement, the resulting data flow may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can stop it at any time (see below).
Cookies, tracking, and your choices
- Essential (always on). Browser storage that remembers your privacy choice (
wecare_consent,_ka_consent, kept up to 12 months) and keeps the Site and form working and secure. These do not track you across sites. - Analytics & advertising (off by default).Karbon tools and pixels described above. They load only after you click “Accept all” or turn this on under “Customize.”
- Google Maps (on request).Not loaded unless you press “Load interactive map.”
You can change your choice at any time: . We treat a Global Privacy Control or Do-Not-Track signal from your browser as a request to opt out and keep optional tools off automatically. You can also block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings.
Your California privacy rights
To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA applies to us, California residents may:
- know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, and get a copy;
- request deletion of personal information we collected from you (subject to legal exceptions);
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (use Your Privacy Choices or a Global Privacy Control signal);
- limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by law;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Categories in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, phone, email, IP address, device identifiers), commercial information (products you asked about), internet activity (pages viewed, clicks — opt-in only), approximate geolocation from IP, and the content of your messages. We do not sell personal information and have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.
How to make a request: email info@wecareforabetteru.com or call (925) 462-5600. We will verify your identity by matching details you gave us, and respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 more with notice). An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our response. We do not charge a fee for reasonable requests.
Residents of other states with privacy laws may have similar rights; use the same contact methods. California’s “Shine the Light” law: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.
Calls and text messages
When you check the consent box on our form you agree we may contact you by phone, text message, or email about your request, including autodialed or prerecorded contact at the number you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts or HELP for help, or tell us on a call. We do not sell your phone number or share it with third parties for their marketing.
Health information and HIPAA
This Site is not a secure channel for protected health information. Form submissions are treated as inquiries. Once you become a customer, health information we obtain to provide equipment and bill insurance is protected by HIPAA and described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, available on request from our store.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and to meet legal, tax, and insurer record-keeping obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use industry-standard safeguards (encrypted connections, access controls, and vetted service providers), but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is intended for adults and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or sell or share information of anyone under 16). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party sites and location
The Site links to and embeds third-party services (for example manufacturer sites and Google). Their privacy practices are their own. The Site is operated from the United States and intended for people in our service area.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version; if we make material changes we will re-ask for your cookie choices.
