Grab bars — the highest-impact change
Properly installed grab bars (anchored into wall studs or blocking, not just drywall anchors) near the toilet and inside the shower/tub give a stable handhold exactly where transfers happen. This is usually the single most effective, lowest-cost fall-prevention step.
Shower chairs and transfer benches
A shower chair with a backrest reduces the risk of standing on wet tile for an extended period. A transfer bench, which extends over the tub wall, lets a user sit outside the tub and slide in rather than stepping over the wall — useful for anyone with limited hip or knee mobility.
Raised toilet seats
Adding 3.5–5 inches of height with padded side handles reduces strain on hips and knees during sit-to-stand transfers, and some are hinged for easy removal when cleaning.
In-home evaluations
We offer in-home evaluations to recommend the right combination of equipment for your specific bathroom layout, then deliver and install it.
